HP Pavilions ship with a serial number used to identify each unit. Unlike the product name and number, which apply to a specific group of units, the serial number is unique to each computer. Business owners who want to know more about their Pavilion's warranty status or need to track the product in case the Pavilion is sent out for repairs can use the serial number to obtain such information.
1.Turn off the HP Pavilion and close its cover. Disconnect the power adapter.
2.Turn the computer over and scan the case for a product sticker.
3.Push the tabs to eject the battery pack if you don't see a sticker on the bottom of the case. Check the battery for a product label.
4.Loosen the screws securing the cover panel or panels to the computer, if neither the case nor the battery include a product label. Remove the panels to reveal the product label.
5.Review the product label to find the serial number on the HP Pavilion.
Tip
- You can also find the serial number in the System Information window. Press 'Function-Esc' to open System Information.
