Driver windows 7 ultimate

Mar 11, 2018 - I am thinking that your pendrive's version is 2.0 or 3.0.So that you have to install an extension in virtual box.Refer the link below to download the. Jun 13, 2015  You are running a Windows as guest in a VirtualBox VM. The physical device is available to the virtual guest. Windows then owns the device and uses Windows drivers to control it. This works for all classes of USB devices. [SOLVED] Virtualbox not displaying USB devices.

my computer is running on kubuntu and I recently installed Windows 7 in VirtualBox on linux (Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager Version 4.1.12_Ubuntu).

Usb Controller Driver Windows 7 Not Found On Virtualbox Windows 7

I want to be able to read data of a USB stick from Windows, but I have some problems with that and I think it comes from Windows (and not from the VirtualBox or linux, but I'm not sure). Indeed from the VirtualBox, I am able to select the USB sitck from the devices menu. However, the USB stick doesn't appear on my Computer (where you see the local disk and CD drive).

Under “Device and Printers”, there is a yellow triangular sign with an exclamation mark next to “Mass Storage Device”. I launched the troubleshoot who gave the following information “There is a problem with the driver for USB Mass Stoage Device. Reinstalling the driver might fix this problem”. I click on the “Apply this fix” button, but it doesn't solve the problem as the next message I get is “Troubleshooting was unable to automatically fix all of the issues found. You can find more details below: USB Mass Storage Device has a driver problem. Not fixed”

Next thing I tried is that under the “USB Mass Storage Device Properties” window I clicked on “Update Driver”, I then get “Search automotically for updated driver software” and finally when the search has finished I get “The best driver software for your device is already installed. Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date” (this is obviously not the case... grrrhh).

Under the same “USB Mass Storage Device Properties” window I also clicked on the “Uninstall” button, took out the USB stick and put it back again and get messages “Installing device software” and then “Device driver software was not successfully installed”.

I really don't know what to do anymore (I also made all the updates for Windows 7 and restart it to see if it makes any difference, but no it doesn't). I also tried with another USB stick and my external hard drive, but get the same problem. Anyone has a clue?

Any help, ideas or suggestion would be much appreciated!

Set up USB for Virtualbox

Recently I installed Windows in Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS using Virtualbox.

I want to know how to access external hard disks or USBs in the Virtual Windows 7.

When I plug in external storage device, only Ubuntu is detecting it. But the Virtual Windows 7 is unable to detect it and I can't access it from Windows 7. How can I link the files between Ubuntu and parallel Windows so that files can be shared in each OS at the same time?

I found the solution for this. First you need to install gnome-system-tools. You can do it by typing the commandsudo apt-get install gnome-system-toolsOnce finished, open user and groups from launcher. Click on manage groups --> vboxusers. Add a user and then logout and login. After that boot your guest OS and right click on the USB option as shown in the picture and choose your external storage device there

After choose the correct usb device open virtualbox --> settings--> USB and click on the + sign and you can see your USB device is added there. You should enable the USB2.0(EHCI) controller as well prior to this.

Windows

Take note that, you can use the USB only in one OS at one time. Either in your guest or in host. You can do it by uncheck/check the USB device

If I'm not mistaken the Open Source version of VirtualBox that comes in the Ubuntu repositories does not have USB access enabled. You have to install the version found in VirtualBox's website which does have USB support enabled.

You may need to upgrade to PUEL Version.

Also, though it's not recommended, try running Virtualbox as root to see if the issue is still there. I once have my integrated webcam unrecognized by the guest OS and this solved the problem.
